CVE-2018-16866 5 Canonical, Debian, Netapp and 2 more 26 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Active Iq Performance Analytics Services and 23 more 2025-06-09 3.3 Low
An out of bounds read was discovered in systemd-journald in the way it parses log messages that terminate with a colon ':'. A local attacker can use this flaw to disclose process memory data. Versions from v221 to v239 are vulnerable.
CVE-2021-44142 6 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 3 more 28 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 25 more 2025-04-23 8.8 High
The Samba vfs_fruit module uses extended file attributes (EA, xattr) to provide "...enhanced compatibility with Apple SMB clients and interoperability with a Netatalk 3 AFP fileserver." Samba versions prior to 4.13.17, 4.14.12 and 4.15.5 with vfs_fruit configured allow out-of-bounds heap read and write via specially crafted extended file attributes. A remote attacker with write access to extended file attributes can execute arbitrary code with the privileges of smbd, typically root.
CVE-2015-3405 7 Debian, Fedoraproject, Ntp and 4 more 14 Debian Linux, Fedora, Ntp and 11 more 2025-04-20 N/A
ntp-keygen in ntp 4.2.8px before 4.2.8p2-RC2 and 4.3.x before 4.3.12 does not generate MD5 keys with sufficient entropy on big endian machines when the lowest order byte of the temp variable is between 0x20 and 0x7f and not #, which might allow remote attackers to obtain the value of generated MD5 keys via a brute force attack with the 93 possible keys.
CVE-2016-2818 6 Canonical, Debian, Mozilla and 3 more 22 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Firefox and 19 more 2025-04-12 N/A
Multiple unspecified vulnerabilities in the browser engine in Mozilla Firefox before 47.0 and Firefox ESR 45.x before 45.2 allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory corruption and application crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code via unknown vectors.
CVE-2015-5165 7 Arista, Debian, Fedoraproject and 4 more 25 Eos, Debian Linux, Fedora and 22 more 2025-04-12 N/A
The C+ mode offload emulation in the RTL8139 network card device model in QEMU, as used in Xen 4.5.x and earlier, allows remote attackers to read process heap memory via unspecified vectors.
CVE-2015-3214 6 Arista, Debian, Lenovo and 3 more 20 Eos, Debian Linux, Emc Px12-400r Ivx and 17 more 2025-04-12 N/A
The pit_ioport_read in i8254.c in the Linux kernel before 2.6.33 and QEMU before 2.3.1 does not distinguish between read lengths and write lengths, which might allow guest OS users to execute arbitrary code on the host OS by triggering use of an invalid index.
CVE-2016-9675 2 Redhat, Uclouvain 5 Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux For Ibm Z Systems, Enterprise Linux For Power Big Endian and 2 more 2025-04-12 7.8 High
openjpeg: A heap-based buffer overflow flaw was found in the patch for CVE-2013-6045. A crafted j2k image could cause the application to crash, or potentially execute arbitrary code.
CVE-2019-6470 3 Isc, Opensuse, Redhat 19 Dhcpd, Leap, Enterprise Linux and 16 more 2025-04-11 6.5 Medium
There had existed in one of the ISC BIND libraries a bug in a function that was used by dhcpd when operating in DHCPv6 mode. There was also a bug in dhcpd relating to the use of this function per its documentation, but the bug in the library function prevented this from causing any harm. All releases of dhcpd from ISC contain copies of this, and other, BIND libraries in combinations that have been tested prior to release and are known to not present issues like this. Some third-party packagers of ISC software have modified the dhcpd source, BIND source, or version matchup in ways that create the crash potential. Based on reports available to ISC, the crash probability is large and no analysis has been done on how, or even if, the probability can be manipulated by an attacker. Affects: Builds of dhcpd versions prior to version 4.4.1 when using BIND versions 9.11.2 or later, or BIND versions with specific bug fixes backported to them. ISC does not have access to comprehensive version lists for all repackagings of dhcpd that are vulnerable. In particular, builds from other vendors may also be affected. Operators are advised to consult their vendor documentation.
CVE-2012-2665 5 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 2 more 11 Openoffice, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 8 more 2025-04-11 N/A
Multiple heap-based buffer overflows in the XML manifest encryption tag parsing functionality in OpenOffice.org and LibreOffice before 3.5.5 allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service and possibly execute arbitrary code via a crafted Open Document Text (.odt) file with (1) a child tag within an incorrect parent tag, (2) duplicate tags, or (3) a Base64 ChecksumAttribute whose length is not evenly divisible by four.
CVE-2012-1717 5 Linux, Oracle, Redhat and 2 more 23 Linux Kernel, Jdk, Jre and 20 more 2025-04-11 N/A
Unspecified vulnerability in the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) component in Oracle Java SE 7 update 4 and earlier, 6 update 32 and earlier, 5 update 35 and earlier, and 1.4.2_37 and earlier allows local users to affect confidentiality via unknown vectors related to printing on Solaris or Linux.
CVE-2007-6283 4 Centos, Fedoraproject, Oracle and 1 more 9 Centos, Fedora Core, Linux and 6 more 2025-04-09 N/A
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and Fedora install the Bind /etc/rndc.key file with world-readable permissions, which allows local users to perform unauthorized named commands, such as causing a denial of service by stopping named.
CVE-2006-5170 3 Debian, Fedoraproject, Redhat 8 Debian Linux, Fedora Core, Enterprise Linux and 5 more 2025-04-09 N/A
pam_ldap in nss_ldap on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, Fedora Core 3 and earlier, and possibly other distributions does not return an error condition when an LDAP directory server responds with a PasswordPolicyResponse control response, which causes the pam_authenticate function to return a success code even if authentication has failed, as originally reported for xscreensaver.
CVE-2022-4254 2 Fedoraproject, Redhat 16 Sssd, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Desktop and 13 more 2025-03-27 8.8 High
sssd: libsss_certmap fails to sanitise certificate data used in LDAP filters
CVE-2023-3899 2 Fedoraproject, Redhat 24 Fedora, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Desktop and 21 more 2025-02-27 7.8 High
A vulnerability was found in subscription-manager that allows local privilege escalation due to inadequate authorization. The D-Bus interface com.redhat.RHSM1 exposes a significant number of methods to all users that could change the state of the registration. By using the com.redhat.RHSM1.Config.SetAll() method, a low-privileged local user could tamper with the state of the registration, by unregistering the system or by changing the current entitlements. This flaw allows an attacker to set arbitrary configuration directives for /etc/rhsm/rhsm.conf, which can be abused to cause a local privilege escalation to an unconfined root.
CVE-2023-0494 3 Fedoraproject, Redhat, X.org 22 Fedora, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Aus and 19 more 2025-02-24 7.8 High
A vulnerability was found in X.Org. This issue occurs due to a dangling pointer in DeepCopyPointerClasses that can be exploited by ProcXkbSetDeviceInfo() and ProcXkbGetDeviceInfo() to read and write into freed memory. This can lead to local privilege elevation on systems where the X server runs privileged and remote code execution for ssh X forwarding sessions.
CVE-2023-3972 1 Redhat 23 Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Aus, Enterprise Linux Desktop and 20 more 2024-11-23 7.8 High
A vulnerability was found in insights-client. This security issue occurs because of insecure file operations or unsafe handling of temporary files and directories that lead to local privilege escalation. Before the insights-client has been registered on the system by root, an unprivileged local user or attacker could create the /var/tmp/insights-client directory (owning the directory with read, write, and execute permissions) on the system. After the insights-client is registered by root, an attacker could then control the directory content that insights are using by putting malicious scripts into it and executing arbitrary code as root (trivially bypassing SELinux protections because insights processes are allowed to disable SELinux system-wide).
CVE-2022-0330 4 Fedoraproject, Linux, Netapp and 1 more 52 Fedora, Linux Kernel, H300e and 49 more 2024-11-21 7.8 High
A random memory access flaw was found in the Linux kernel's GPU i915 kernel driver functionality in the way a user may run malicious code on the GPU. This flaw allows a local user to crash the system or escalate their privileges on the system.
CVE-2021-4091 2 Port389, Redhat 11 389-ds-base, Directory Server, Enterprise Linux and 8 more 2024-11-21 7.5 High
A double-free was found in the way 389-ds-base handles virtual attributes context in persistent searches. An attacker could send a series of search requests, forcing the server to behave unexpectedly, and crash.
CVE-2021-3656 3 Fedoraproject, Linux, Redhat 31 Fedora, Linux Kernel, 3scale Api Management and 28 more 2024-11-21 8.8 High
A flaw was found in the KVM's AMD code for supporting SVM nested virtualization. The flaw occurs when processing the VMCB (virtual machine control block) provided by the L1 guest to spawn/handle a nested guest (L2). Due to improper validation of the "virt_ext" field, this issue could allow a malicious L1 to disable both VMLOAD/VMSAVE intercepts and VLS (Virtual VMLOAD/VMSAVE) for the L2 guest. As a result, the L2 guest would be allowed to read/write physical pages of the host, resulting in a crash of the entire system, leak of sensitive data or potential guest-to-host escape.
CVE-2020-25719 5 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 2 more 18 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 15 more 2024-11-21 7.2 High
A flaw was found in the way Samba, as an Active Directory Domain Controller, implemented Kerberos name-based authentication. The Samba AD DC, could become confused about the user a ticket represents if it did not strictly require a Kerberos PAC and always use the SIDs found within. The result could include total domain compromise.
